At an off-site meeting of the government in the Dashoguz velayat, a decision was announced to start the grain harvest campaign in Ahal, Lebap and Mary velayats on June 3, and in the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats of Turkmenistan on June 10. Noting the importance of the forthcoming campaign for ensuring the food security of the country, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov asked the honorary elders, according to the established good tradition, to launch it.
In the Dashoguz velayat, on an area of 145,000 hectares, a wheat crop has been grown, in the collection of which it is planned to use 428 combines and 2,135 vehicles to transport grain to 28 reception points. The expected wheat harvest will be 265,000 tons. In general, it is planned to harvest 1.4 million tons of grain from 690,000 hectares of land across the country.
